All throughout the halls and corridors, in and around all the classrooms and study spaces hidden throughout Thompson Rivers University and other universities near and abroad, Artificial Intelligence is a tool powering up students and inspiring creativity in not just assignments but everyday tasks as well. Artificial Intelligence is a topic that we have covered a lot on this website and getting students views on AI is very important as students are the future and will be the first generation to incorporate AI into our everyday schedules and lives. In the interviews we conducted, it was found that AI is used in institutions all around the province and not just here at Thompsons Rivers University. Liam, our visual arts student from the University of British Columbia uses Artificial Intelligence for increasing productivity and generating ideas for his artwork. Lucas, our Tourism Management student from TRU says he uses Artificial Intelligence for customer assistance and personalized recommendations for potential customers. Both use AI and note that it is very common as they see other students in their field using the tool for the same reasons. As artificial intelligence is a a tool that is continuously growing in popularity, it should be something that instructors are students at these post secondary institutions should expect to see more and more integrating itself into everyday practices. As Lucas says in his interview, “it is not for everyone” yet everyone can find someway for it to benefit their life.
